For a product-led WeChat article, consider a cover, full product view, scene, material details, process images and clean backgrounds for approved information. For Channels video, plan identification, action, details, a closing view and a text-free master.
This guide concerns China-market WeChat Official Accounts and Channels. Plan shared capture where practical, but do not assume landscape photographs can replace vertical footage. Check current technical rules separately from production advice; photography does not guarantee WeChat search visibility.
Separate article and video tasks
An Official Account article uses headings, paragraphs and image groups to explain the product. Channels video uses sequence and sound to connect identification, action and detail. Both can share product facts and visual direction without sharing an identical file.
Label article and Channels requirements separately in the shot list, then identify shared masters. This reveals where a separate crop, vertical view or complete action take is needed.
Consider six image roles for a product article
A cover establishes the topic; a full view identifies the product; a scene supplies context; close-ups explain material and construction; process views build a sequence; clean backgrounds provide room for approved dimensions or features.
Choose image count from the story and evidence needed. A short launch note may use fewer roles than a detailed product article. Confirm supported formats and file sizes in the current publishing interface or relevant API documentation.
- Cover and opening image
- Full product view
- Room or use setting
- Material and construction details
- Arrangement or production process
- Clean background for approved information
Plan seven roles for Channels footage
Consider a cover frame, opening product identification, full view, handling action, material close-up, contextual scene and clean closing view. Keep one main question at the center rather than covering every product fact in one video.
The linked Channels help page explains supported content and technical requirements, including format and device compatibility considerations. Test the agreed export on the intended phone or publishing interface before sign-off.
- Candidate cover frame
- Opening product identification
- Full product view
- Arrangement or use action
- Material and construction close-up
- Setting or person-product relationship
- Closing view and text-free master
Match asset order to the content topic
Launch content can lead with the product, pattern and components. Educational content may need comparisons and close-ups. Brand stories can include actual preparation or making processes; label concepts clearly and protect unpublished products and client information in behind-the-scenes material.
A shared asset set can support several stories through different selections. Keep the title, summary and images focused on the same topic rather than adding unrelated terms to attract searches.
Plan shared masters during the shoot
Capture full views, wider scenes and details as photographs, then check vertical framing and complete actions separately for video. Keep useful crop space and agree clean versions without platform UI, stickers or captions.
When a crop would remove a pattern, component or action, plan another view. Filenames should identify the SKU, content type, orientation and version so editors can select the correct asset.
Review facts, rights and changing rules
Check materials, dimensions, construction, prices and benefit statements against brand-approved information. Review permissions for people, music, fonts and third-party images. AI or composite visuals should not misrepresent the product.
WeChat's linked marketing rules address truthful product information and consistency with linked product details. Rules and account capabilities can change; content, publication status and account conditions also affect visibility. The studio does not guarantee indexing or recommendation.
- Product facts match the linked listing
- Permissions for people and third-party assets
- No unsupported absolute claims
- Clear AI or composite disclosure
- Article images tested in the publishing interface
- Video tested in the intended publishing tool
- Clean masters and an asset record retained
